Breakfast Ride

Got a new bike the other day. The local HOG Chapter mentioned a Breakfast Ride. Ride and breakfast?!?! Doesn’t get much better than that!

Left the dealership just after 7:00. Only three of us to start, we met up with the fourth at our breakfast stop.

Stopped at The Fatty Shack in Phil Campbell, AL. Food was great and reasonably priced. I had the Philly Omelet. More than filled me up. Great service, and the place was biker friendly!

After breakfast, we took off for a ride through Bankhead National Forest. Two of our group had to part ways as we got back to Phil Campbell. Mark and I took off following our website theme, serendipity! Only one turn that was a minor error (we probably could have gotten back on that road, but it was heading in the wrong direction). We stopped for food and gas at Spring Valley Market. Mark had lunch, I just gassed up the bike. He was ordering ribs and said they were some of the best around. I’ll have to bring MaryJo back here to get her to try them.

I took back roads to Rt 72. Short trip then to County Road 150 to head to Wheeler Dam. Just before the dam, turned toward River Road and eventually heading back home. Got back to the house by about 1:30. Still enough time to do a few errands around the house.
