Tail of the Dragon

In June of 2010, we enjoyed a 2 week vacation on the bike. We rode the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway over a 3 day period. Before heading to Helen, GA to join our family reunion, we took a quick break on the Tail of the Dragon.

For those that have never heard of it, The Tail of the Dragon is 11 miles of mountain roads with 318 curves. After a trip there, you will have a new appreciation of a 5 MPH curve That year, one end was closed due to a rock slide. So, what did we do? Turn around and go the 11 miles back, and another 318 curves. 22 miles and 637 curves (I counted the turnaround as the extra curve).

Scooter got his sticker, got helmet stickers, and we got the t-shirts! We are looking forward to heading there again, soon!
